The 1,368cc motor in this variant comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and is expected to make 98.6hp and 134Nm. The other petrol option in the line-up is the more powerful 1.6-litre engine.
The 1.4 Verna is available in two trims. The starting price (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the Verna 1.4 E variant is ₹7.29 lakh. The better-equipped Verna 1.4 EX’ prices haven’t been revealed yet. The 1.4-litre motor is the same engine that powers the i20 automatic. The engine will, however, be discontinued in the hatchback.
In terms of features, they are similar to the 1.6-litre version. The base Verna 1.4 E gets 15-inch steel wheels, dual airbags, ABS, tilt steering, power mirrors, a trip computer, a cooled glovebox, and a rear centre armrest. The Verna 1.4 EX is fitted with keyless entry, rear parking sensors, projector fog lamps, a front armrest, a 5.0-inch touchscreen system with four speakers, cruise control, rear AC vents and driver’s seat height adjust.
